Words of Encouragement

Recently, I was having a rough day with my Fibromyalgia.  I asked my Facebook friends to share some inspirational quotes.  I knew these quotes would lift my spirit.  Here are some of my favorite inspirational quotes, and I hope that they bring you happiness and encouragement.

"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." ~ Thomas Jefferson

"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within." ~ Elizabeth Kubler Ross

"Within each of us lies the power of our consent to health and sickness, to riches and poverty, to freedom and to slavery. It is we who control these, and not another." ~ Richard Bach

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." ~Mother Teresa

I'm only human...

I plan to try and have a positive outlook on everything, but I am only human and will have days where I am grumpy.  When I am grumpy, I am negative....and I hate being negative! The past few days have been like the day Alexander had in the children's book, Alexander and the Horrible Terrible No Good Very Bad Day. I have learned a lesson though from these days.  We are all human, and we are going to have our good days and our bad days, but we can always make an effort to turn our day into a good day.  Today I realized that I can make it a good day so I put my problems to the side and enjoyed a great day with my family! I hope that you have worked on having a good day as well :)

My Bucket List

One of my favorite movies is The Bucket List, which stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.  The characters are dealing with life-threatening illnesses and decide to write a "bucket list."  This bucket list consists of items they want to do before they die. This movie made me think about the importance of making goals, especially if you have a chronic illness.  I know that I often do not think about the many things I want to do with my life because I am dwelling on my chronic illness.  I know this is not a healthy state of mind so I have decided to form my own bucket list! I encourage you to also make a bucket list and achieve your long-term goals.
My Bucket List:
1. Earn my Master's degree.
2. Earn my Ph.D.
3. Write a book.
4. Visit Disney World.
5. Visit Europe.
6. Learn a new language.
7. Read a new book every month.
8. Write in a journal everyday.

I hope to add more to this list soon :)  I hope you will join me in forming this important list!

Brand-New Blogger

I have wanted to start a blog for several months, but I just could not find the courage to do it.  I finally realized that it would be beneficial for me to have one because 1. ) It is a good way to live a positive life by writing my thoughts, concerns, etc. 2. ) It may connect me to others that are finding ways to live a positive life while living with a chronic illness 3. ) I can practice my writing skills!  If you read the "About Me" section, you now know that I am a wife, mother, and graduate student that also has Fibromyalgia.  For me to not go completely crazy, I have realized that a positive attitude is necessary.  It has not been easy, but a good attitude is important!

I plan to write as much as possible in my blog about my daily life experiences as a wife, mother, and student as well as how I am living with Fibromyalgia.  Also, I plan to give some insight on ways to keep a positive attitude.  I hope to make many friends on this journey :)
